Abstract The theoretical calculation for pseudo-scalars hadronic decays $$K \rightarrow \pi a$$ K ? ? a is reviewed. While one-loop penguin contributions are usually considered, tree-level processes have most often been overlooked in literature. Following the Lepage–Brodsky approach contribution to charged and neutral pseudo-scalar decay ALP estimated. Assuming generic couplings SM fermions, latest NA62/E949 results $$K^+ ^+ + present/future KOTO $$K^0_L ^0 L 0 used provide updated bounds on ALP-fermion Lagrangian sector. Finally, interplay between investigated.

Recent work by J. Prades and myself on K ! is described. The rst part describes our method to connect in a systematic fashion the short-distance evolution with long-distance matrix-element calculations taking the scheme dependence of the short-distance evolution into account correctly.
